PIPS Bistro Opens
RM3 Million Restaurant Bar Ushers in New Era in Fine Dining

Bandar Baru Nilai, December 19, 2004: This relatively new township, riding on the coat-tails of its rapidly progressing neighbours, Sepang, Putrajaya and Cyberjaya, which boasts of several attractions of its own recently welcomed a new kid on the block – Pips Bistro.

The RM 3 Million restaurant/bar is the realization of a dream for Briton Bryan Marsden, who intends to make this airport city the headquarters of its worldwide PIPS Bistro franchise program. “We plan to open one each in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore .early next year and then take it overseas.”

“Malaysian products are good enough for the world. So why should we always take from other countries. It is time to take our products to the world,” he told guests at the opening night.

This is not simply a boast. PIPS INC, the holding company of Pips Bistro Sdn Bhd has over 100,000 members in 72 countries.

“It is easy to take Pips Bistro to most of these countries where our members are,” said the CEO of Pips INC who set up Pips headquarters in Nilai seven years ago.

To take pride in Pips INC’s foray into the fine dining business, Pips INC members from UK, Singapore, the Philippines and Indonesia showed up for the opening.

Mama Mia, a four-piece Filipino live band with three front line female singers gave the 300 odd guests quite a treat with their dynamic performance and powerful vocals belting out oldies, Latin American and techno stuff.

The dynamic trio breezed in onto the stage to a quirky little intro tune. And within seconds, they're got the joint rocking.

The sound of Mama Mia is, strictly speaking, eclectic. There are soul, folk and rock in there, mixed with quirky keyboard pop.

But Mama Mia aren’t just about music. Their live performance is good fun to watch as well, due largely to their enigmatic lead vocalist. She dances around like a druid at Summer Solstice cracking a smile.

By the time Mama Mia’s set drew to a close, they had the crowd moving and shaking as if they themselves were the headliners.

In between the show the guests had another kind of mouth watering treat – a 100 percent wide ranging halal food, from international classics to local favorites, like rending, chicken chop, prawns and many others.

It also boasts of an outstanding wine list at extremely affordable prices to complement the intricate flavours of prepared dishes.

Pips Bistro is situated in a double storey shop lot at PT 7315 & 7316 Jalan BBN 1/2G, Bandar Baru Nilai, 71800 Nilai.

The design is a casually elegant and sophisticated evocation of an authentic British bistro with a local touch. This first class bistro, located in Putra Point in Bandar Baru Nilai blends turn of the century charm with an upscale city flair with wooden and metal railings, glass and brick walls and state-of-the-art kitchenette.

Outside, the patio terrace resembles an outdoor French café surrounded by overhanging trees. The local contractor has meticulously transformed the draped shop lot into a showpiece equivalent or better then several up market watering holes in Kuala Lumpur.

PIPS Bistro is managed by PIPS Bistro Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of PIPS INC which controls a group of offshore investment companies. The latter is in turn managed by Newmark Business Centres Sdn Bhd.
