How wonderful if we all have two hour lunch breaks during working days. Then we can take our time to have our lunch and perhaps even drive out somewhere a bit further for nicer food.
Well, reality bites. Lunch times are only one hour on working days and you have to contend with a thousand other people going down the lifts. At places where the food is nice and the price is reasonable, you will probably have to wait at least 5 to 10 minutes for a free table. By that time your sweat glands and the smoke and haze would have done its job.
How wonderful if someone can deliver your meals right to your door. No hassle and literally no sweat! Well, foodvenue.com has done just that by providing a meals ordering and delivery system for working people.
Here's a short guide on how you can order from the foodvenue.com web site.
Matching Your Area with Available Food Providers
Firstly, key in the postcode of the place where you want the food to be delivered. Then key in the street or area name. This is to enable us to know where you are located so that we can match the available food providers to your delivery area.
For example, if you are located in Wisma Genting, you would key in "50250" as the postcode and "Jalan Sultan Ismail" or "Sultan Ismail" as the street or area name.
Select "Delivery" and don't forget to click on "Halal" if you require halal food. Then just click GO and you will see a selection of food providers which are available for your area. If there is currently no available food provider, you will be notified accordingly. Please make sure that the food provider you choose is open for orders. If the food provider is closed, this will be listed right below the name of the food provider.
Ordering Food
Click on your food provider of choice and you will see its menu. Make your selection by keying in the number of items required and click "Add Item". You will see that the panel on your right will display your orders. This is what we call the Shopping Cart Panel. You can continue to order until you have completed your selection.
The Shopping Panel will show you what items you have ordered and the cost. If delivery charges and tax are applicable, it will be stated.
Changing Your Shopping Cart
If you made a mistake in ordering you can click on the "Edit Shopping Cart" button in the Shopping Cart Panel to make corrections. You will see a new panel which allows you to change the quantity. Click "Modify" to change your previous ordered quantity to the new quantity which you have entered. If you want to cancel a particular item altogether, click "Delete" so the item will be removed completely from your Shopping Cart.
After making the necessary changes, you can either continue ordering or perform a check out.
Checking Out
After you are satisfied with your order, you may perform a check out by clicking on the "Perform Checkout" button. If you are at the menu screen, this button may be found at the lower part of the Shopping Cart Panel.
Once you clicked on the "Perform Checkout" button, you will see a summary screen showing all the items you have ordered and the total amount applicable.
If you haven't logged in at this point, you will be required to log in. If you are not already a member, you will need to register first with foodvenue.com by clicking on the "Join Now" link. Remember to key in your delivery address!
If you are already a member, please log in and confirm the delivery address and the delivery time. Check the delivery zone and click "Confirm". Then just wait for your meal to arrive.
