foodvenue.com, the premier food portal in Malaysia, offering Malaysia's first online food ordering system and telephone ordering system (toll free number at 1300-88-3663 (FOOD)) has added two new vendors to satisfy its customer demands. Acoording to its Chief Operating Officer, Mr Adrian Tan, this marks the start of an aggressive move by foodvenue.com to get more vendors to be powered by foodvenue.com's proprietary online ordering and telephone booking system. "Hopefully, by August, our coverages areas will include the Golden Triangle, Bangsar, Damansara and Petaling Jaya."
With more than one year experience in the food ordering and delivery service, Mr Tan explained that foodvenue.com is now ready to expand. "We have learned from our experience what works and what doesn't. We have done well - most of the competitors whom we started out with has gone. We are still left standing and we are moving forward", said Mr Tan. "It proves we have thought things through and we are here for the long haul."
The two new vendors added are Rose & Grill, a vendor specialising in roast chicken and Hilltown Dim Sum, who is famous for its delicious dim sums. "We continue to stress our focus on the mass market. All our vendors continue to be halal certified.", said Mr. Tan. In the case of Hilltown Dim Sum, the certification is granted by the State of Perak.
"At the moment, flyers are being sent out to promote the two vendors and it seems that customers are crazy about the dim sums," said Mr. Tan. "So far the vendor for Hilltown Dim Sum is pleased with the initial results". The menu for all vendors may be viewed online at www.foodvenue.com/order
Mr. Tan added, "If you are interested in being powered by foodvenue.com, we'll want to talk to you. With our customer database, our marketing experience and customer management system, we'll make sure you'll have a strong partner to help grow your business."

According to a press statement today by the Food Venue Sdn Bhd’s Chairman Mr Jerry Ho, the company is currently in talks with Islamic scholars to set up a panel to operate a halal
food section in www.foodvenue.com, a food portal operated by Food Venue Sdn Bhd. “We intend to provide comprehensive information on issues related to halal food for the Muslim community.
In fact we foresee that in promoting understanding of halal food, non-Muslim food suppliers and restaurants can be a step closer to ensure their products can be halal,” says Mr Ho.
In the same statement, Food Venue Sdn Bhd also claims to provide a section to answer queries on halal certification. “We have consultants who are familiar with the requirements in obtaining halal certification.
These experts will help to set up a section to help answer queries on what it means and the requirements to get certified,” Mr Ho, who has been in the food business for a number of years, went on to say, “Hopefully,
through this section in www.foodvenue.com we can help others in the food industry understand what it takes to be certified halal so as to serve the Muslim community.”
Kuala Lumpur, May 2001 – Web surfers can now search for dining ideas in the Klang Valley on the world wide web.

by halal food and more. “It is a comprehensive database with a powerful search facility. No more headaches on where and
what to eat in the Klang Valley.”
The restaurant directory service also allows users to rate the restaurants and give comments and recommendations. “We allow the real experts – the person
in the street - to decide and recommend what’s good to eat,” says Mr Ho, “And the restaurants can go online and change their profiles and add in new promotions.”
foodvenue.com welcomes enquiries by restaurants to go online. “You can call us up at 03-2148-4243 or email us at sales@foodvenue.com”
says Mr Ho, “you’ll be surprised with what we can do for your business.”

its web site www.foodvenue.com is officially made available to the public.

the local recipes for cook-out at home. The restaurant directory, reputedly the best currently in Malaysia, contains detailed
information on ambience, cuisine, promotions and user ratings and comments.
Mr Tan added that the recipe search functionality in www.foodvenue.com will also set the standard for a Malaysian web site.
“You can search by cuisine, category of meals and by ingredients. Some of the recipes are original and made available to
foodvenue.com on the web exclusively,” said Mr. Tan.
In the same statement, Food Venue Sdn Bhd said that it intends to incorporate a B2B section for foodstuff manufacturers and suppliers.
It also has plans to set up a halal food community to cater for the needs of the Muslim community. “foodvenue.com realises the difficulty
faced by the Muslim community when searching for halal food.” Food Venue Sdn Bhd is also currently in talks to set up a panel of experts

Kuala Lumpur, January 2001 – Food Venue Sdn Bhd’s Chief Operating Officer, Mr Adrian Tan announced that Food Venue
Sdn Bhd intends to provide food ordering and delivery optimisation services to any food provider who wants to utilise its
proprietary meal ordering and optimisation system. “Currently, we have teamed up with Telekopitiam” says Mr. Tan, “but we
are already talking to other food providers.” Mr Tan says Telekopitiam has set an aggressive timeline but he is confident
Food Venue Sdn Bhd will be able to deliver the system on time. “However in order to ensure that Telekopitiam does not
overstretch its resources during launch, we planned out a phased rollout approach to minimise risk and to ensure customer satisfaction.”
Food Venue Sdn Bhd is the operator of the Klang Valley based food portal www.foodvenue.com. Upon its formal launch in early May 2001,
foodvenue.com boasts a meal ordering service, food directory, food news, articles and recipes on its web site. “We intend to be the best,”
claims Mr Tan. “We have put a lot of thought into the content such as the directory. Once it is up, users can search for ideas of where
to dine easily and quickly with our search tools.” Because the foodvenue.com site adopts the principle of a community web site,
restaurant owners can edit their details online and publicise any promotions they want. To keep the food directory relevant, Mr Tan adds,
“Users can give comments on the restaurants – yes you can finally give direct feed back to the restaurants. For example, if you like the
food and service you can let every other user know about it.”
